CHARITY EVENT: STRIKES FOR HUNGER

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCAL PROMOTERS AND DJ AIM TO “STRIKE OUT HUNGER” IN AKRON WITH 2ND ANNUAL BOWLING OUTING

DJ Mr. King, Tha Takeover Productions & Ren1010 Sports to host 2nd Annual “Strikes For Hunger” Charity Bowling Outing to provide assistance to Shelter Care and Safe Landing during the holiday season.

AKRON, Ohio – November 1, 2009 – Akron-native and nationally-known DJ, DJ Mr. King (Steve King) and Tha Takeover Productions along with Ren1010 Sports will host the 2nd Annual “Strikes For Hunger” Charity Bowling Outing Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at AMF Riviera Lanes located at 20 South Miller Road in Akron, Ohio from 5 pm until 1 am

Last year, through the "Strikes for Hunger" campaign, Tha Takeover Productions raised more than $1,000 in food and donations for ACCESS Inc. Battered Women's Shelter in Akron.

This year, Shelter Care and Safe Landing Shelter will benefit from the funds raised at the bowling event. Shelter Care Executive Director Wes Fair said donations during the holiday seasons are always useful to the children and families of their organization.

This is the time of year when Shelter Care and Safe Landing really depends on and appreciates the outpouring of charity from our community,” said Fair. “Donations of food, clothing, and other resources go a long way in restoring hope and faith in the power to overcome the many obstacles faced by the youth and families we serve”

The event, which will also feature a live DJ as well as billiards and other games, will be a two-part outing with children ages 5-18 bowling in the first session from 5-8pm. The second session will be held for adults 21 and older and will begin at 9pm. Admission for the children session is $10 ($8 with a donation of five canned goods or non-perishable items). Admission for the adult session is $20 ($15 with a donation of five canned goods or non perishable items). All admission includes unlimited bowling and shoe rental for the entire session.

Any parties or businesses interested in lane sponsorship or seeking additional more information on the “Strikes For Hunger” Charity Bowling Outing, please contact Steve King at 330-701-8327 or via email at sking0328@gmail.com.

BALLERS CONVENTION

My man Mills has been doin his thing up there in Philadelphia, PA for years and his deep rooted ties to the Philadelphia community has resulted in positivity...Make sure you take a look at what the man is doin...(the above photo is G.Mills (left) and DJ Mr.King (right) last year at a Takeover Event...Mills good hearted spirit is resonated in this photo)

According to the Pennsylvania Uniform Crime Reporting System, almost every month this year about 30 lives have been taken due to homicide. The goal of this campaign is to help ease the pain of the families affected. Also, to provide a positive alternative to lower crime in this city. The Founder of Ballers
Convention states, " My campaign serves a purpose which is to assist in decreasing the violence in Philadelphia and its surrounding areas."

Garry Mills, believes "In order to bring violence to an end[in Philadelphia] we all must dig up our grass roots. Provide an outlet that these kids already know and love, basketball". Mills would boast of being one of the Philadelphia Public league's best ball players in its history, therefore he can tell of the positive affects that the game could have on one's life. Basketball proved to bring out his leadership skills at a young age which later nurtured his entrepreneurial spirit. Thereafter, being the brains of Ballers Convention and other entrepreneurial endeavors. This campaign is planned to attract many people with that same spirit and love for basketball.

At the young age of 25, Mills has dedicated his life to this project of violence prevention through the outlet of sports, entertainment and entrepreneurship via Ballers Convention. His believes his life's mission is to be a positive role model to all young men and women specifically in the Philadelphia and West Oak Lane areas.

Ballers Convention is a basketball marketing/event planning company focused on preventing violence and promoting positive lifestyles. It creates brand experiences for consumers through fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment objectives; established with the commitment to bringing a fresh and innovative experience to all who attend our events. We are dedicated to catering to the entertainment needs of young adults, young professional, and entrepreneurs. In our brief existence, we have established a presence in the city of Philadelphia and its surrounding areas.

Ballers Convention encourages families to gather during the holidays and replace "weapons of mass destruction" with basketballs. Replace hate with innovative and progressive ideas for the future...

STRIKES FOR HUNGER

As Tha Takeover Productions is thriving as an entity through Club Events, Concerts, Artist Development and Promotion, we always take time out to give back to our community. Below is an official press release that will be printed in various local and national media sources, as well various online campaigns. This press release outlines our Holiday Charity Event. Please take time to read something for a good cause, and if you have any information that could assist our event please contact us thatakeoverproductions@gmail.com

In their continuing effort to increase community involvement in the city of Akron, Tha Takeover Productions and DJ Mr. King will be hosting its First Annual “Strikes For Hunger” charity bowling outing, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at AMF Riviera Lanes located at 20 South Miller Road in Fairlawn, Ohio from 10pm-2am.

Through the “Strikes For Hunger” campaign, Tha Takeover Productions are looking to raise more than $1,000 in food and donations which will be given to Access Inc. Battered Women’s Shelter. In addition to the bowling outing, the event will also contain a community casino night where patrons can enjoy cards, billiards and arcade games.

Freddy Robertson, co-CEO of Tha Takeover Productions, said his company chose Access Inc. as its charity to donate to because of its significance to develop and strengthen single parent households.

“Being raised in a single parent home, I am able to relate to the struggles of a woman making sacrifices for the well being of her child,” said Robertson, a 24-year-old graduate of The Ohio State University. “It was the will of strong women that no only pushed me along, but my partners as well. We were all able to graduate from college and are doing our best to provide our community with positive role models. Giving back to a charity that looks to assist the family "make-up" that we are products of is very fulfilling.”

Patrons are encouraged to bring at least 5 canned food or non-perishable items during the night of the event. Admission starts at $10. For more information on the event or on Tha Takeover Productions contact Fred 330-338-7891 or via email at thatakeoverproductions@gmail.com
