LEBRON & ICE CUBE DO T.V.

Lebron wears many hat's and it looks like he's dusting off his all business hat. It's reported that he and Ice Cube are teaming up to do a movie based on his life in high school...Seeing that he's from the hometown you have to wish him well...Funny thing is if your from the city you know where he got "Spring Hill Productions" from as the name of his production company...

As the face of the city of Akron continues to change the existence of the many place that we've seen our entire lives are changing, Spring Hill included...Although change for the better is always good!!!

Since entering the NBA, LeBron James has excelled both on and off the court,molding himself into a successful entrepreneur and mogul in the sports and entertainment industry.

His first venture, LRMR Marketing, has made several moves in the past few years. The company’s first client for athlete representation was Dolphin’s receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who signed on for marketing endeavors. Ginn’s stock as a marketable player has certainly risen as the Dolphins success this year has given the receiver considerable coverage. The firm also represents Mike Flynt, who became the oldest college football player in history when he returned to Sul Ross State University at the age of 59.

Lately, LeBron has turned his attention to making his presence felt in Hollywood. More Than a Game, a documentary that chronicles the story of James and his St. Vincent-St. Mary High School teammates, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September. Lionsgate, the company responsible for releasing Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11, has acquired the distribution rights and plans on having a fall 2009 release. Besides being the focus of the film, both James and close friend and partner in LRMR, Maverick Carter (CEO of LRMR), served as executive producers on the project, and James' newest venture, Spring Hill Productions, is one of three production companies that worked on the documentary.

The freshest news to come out of the LeBron James camp is that the hoops star and his Spring Hill Productions have teamed up with rapper/entertainment Ice Cube’s CubeVision to produce a pilot for ABC about James’ experiences as a high school phenom.

The two companies will oversee production for ABC, while the two act as executive producers and co-creators. Assuming the network approves the pilot script, they are aiming to premier the show next fall.

In addition, James’ two companies are collaborating on Mike Flynt projects, including a two-book deal that is already underway. Spring Hill Productions and producers Gordon Gray and Mark Ciardi have secured the rights of Flynt’s life to use in a film that is expected to have a $30 million budget, and has already considered actors like Tommy Lee Jones and Bruce Willis for the lead role.

Many athletes have tried and usually failed to become successful in Hollywood. James’ star-power is seemingly a force to be reckoned with, and I can assume that his actions in the world of sports and entertainment will continue to expand and be successful. JAP'S LAST STAND??

I'm proud to say my uncLe...Yes my uncle "Jap" or Alvin Robertson to you all has been in the NBA news lately...Chris Paul from the New Orleans Hornets is on the verge of breaking my uncle's record for most consecutive games with a steal which is 105 games...I'm really hoping that he doesn't break the record but with the way the league is now I would be surprised if he broke that record tonight @ 10:30 pm est vs the Spurs...If you don't know about my uncle Jap I've got a little background info for you:

Alvin Cyrrale Robertson (born July 22, 1962 in Barberton, Ohio) is a retired American basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association
from 1984 to 1993, and for one final season in 1995-96.

Best known for his defense, the 6'3" Robertson played for ten years after being selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the seventh pick in the 1984 NBA Draft out of Crowder Junior College and the University of Arkansas. After five seasons with the
Spurs, He finished out his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Detroit Pistons and the Toronto Raptors. He also was a member of 1984 U.S. Olympic gold-medal team

In 1986, Robertson became the inaugural winner of the NBA Most Improved Player Award. This also marked the first of four National Basketball Association All-Star Game appearances for the guard (the others coming in 1987,1988, and 1991). He also won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1986, and led the league in steals in 1986, 1987 and 1991. Robertson still holds the top career steals-per-game average in the NBA, with 2.71 per contest over 779 career games.

Robertson twice led the league in steals. In 1985-86 he averaged a league-leading 3.67 steals per game, a major factor in his earning the Defensive Player of the Year honor and being selected second-team All-NBA, one of only five players in Spurs' history to have been selected first, second or third-team All-NBA. He was a three-time All-Star. Only George Gervin, David Robinson and Tim Duncan have represented the Spurs in more All-Star Games.

Robertson led the Spurs in steals four of the five seasons he was with the club, three times averaging more than three per game. Though he played only five seasons in San Antonio, he ranks second in club history in total steals, with 1,129.

A multi-dimensional player, Robertson is one of only four NBA players to record a quadruple-double (double digits in four statistical categories in a single game) when he registered 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals whilst playing for the Spurs against the Phoenix Suns. He is also the only player to do so with steals as the fourth category (the other three were with blocks).

In 1994, the Detroit Pistons traded Robertson to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Mark Macon and Marcus Liberty. However, he never actually saw any playing time for the Nuggets due to pre-existing back injuries.

Robertson scored the first points in Toronto Raptors' history. Ed Pinckney won the franchise's opening tip-off, Robertson hit a three-pointer,and the Raptors were ahead 3–0.

So needless to say I am proud of my uncle and his achievements and I'll be tuned in to the game tonite on ESPN to see if his record holds up...If all else fails he'll still have the record as one of only four players to earn a Quadruple-Double!!! ODE TO AKRON ATHLETES: PART 1

Akron athletics has been "on the scene" for years however the national attention that Lebron James has received has tremendously assisted Akron and in a larger scale...the whole state of Ohio!!! While Akron (just like many other cities in the U.S.) has been puttin out positive products for years...So we're gonna call this an "Ode to Akron Athletes"

So in this installment we'll focus on football and yea yea I can't talk about football with out mentioning "The Mecca" of Akron football none other than Buchtel High (sorry King) but Garfield pulled a close second...LOL!!! The Akron area has seen its share of talent but I'm going to focus on a few guys who are making there mark in the NFL and college scene right now...

Chris "Beanie" Wells has been doin his thing ever since he set foot on the field in Columbus, OH for the Buckeyes...Not only was he one of the most highly sought after high school RB's in high school he has lived up to the hype with a strong running campaign for the Buckeye's...With Beanie's success at the college level he has been labeled as one of the best backs in college football which has the experts guaranteeing a high draft position in the NFL draft...Beanie continues to remain humble and we wish him the best of luck in his future football endeavours...below is a clip of some hard runs by Beanie...Make sure you check out the stiff arm at the 4:06 mark...Pause!!!

Antonio Pittman is also a strong running back that helped revitalized an Ohio State Buckeye backfield that needed help after the loss of "Maurice Clarett" (you have to put his name in parenthesis)...Pittman was an explosive back that gave the Buckeyes stability at the running back position. After his Buckeye career Pittman was drafted by the New Orleans Saints and was later signed by the St. Louis Rams where he currently resides...With the tough task of backing up a Pro Bowl running back, Pittman has excel in the NFL and has been impressing the coaching staff of the Rams who are impressed with Pittman's upside...Antonio has remained humble as in his off season's he works out in Ohio and often spends time in the Akron community...Below is a video mix featuring some of Pittman's highlights...Clink and Enjoy!!!

Special shout out to Tyrell Sutton (Northwestern) and Lawerence Wilson (Ohio State) who were having great seasons this year in college football but had them ended early due to injury...Tha Takeover Productions hopes to see you all back on the field soon...
